Vancouver ITEDS Conference
ITEDS hosted its 3rd international conference on Thyroid Eye Disease (Graves’ Orbitopathy) in Vancouver, Canada on June 28 and 29, 2013.
The sold-out meeting focussed on the latest clinical and basic science research and featured both invited speakers and open papers and posters. Our speakers and registrants represented 25 different nations from five continents and included eight medical and surgical specialty groups.
One of ITEDS’ goals is to foster cooperation amongst various organizations studying this disease in order to share resources and increase collaborative research. This symposium reflected that impetus, with the scientific planning committee, speakers and registrants being comprised of members of ITEDS, the European Group on Graves’ Orbitopathy (EUGOGO), American, Asia Pacific and European Thyroid Associations (ATA, AOTA, ETA) and the Orbit Society.
Several EUGOGO and ITEDS executive members met immediately following the meeting and came up with a consensus statement (click here).
